The Paradox of AI Obsession: Why Loving It Means Questioning It

Here's the paradox:

I’m not anti-AI. I couldn’t be more pro-AI if I tried.

I use it, teach it, build with it, and think it’s the most powerful tool we’ve been handed in generations.
But that doesn’t mean I trust everyone who profits from it—or how it’s being rolled out at scale.

Loving AI ≠ Blind Trust

AI is:

  • Brilliant
  • Expansive
  • Game-changing

But here’s the thing: mankind is not always pure of heart.

So when I hear about new laws aiming to block state-level AI regulations for a full 10 years (like the one buried in Trump’s latest mega-bill), I’m not just raising an eyebrow—I’m throwing the whole red flag.

Why This Should Worry You

That type of legislation doesn’t protect people—it protects Big Tech and unchecked power.

When states lose the right to regulate AI:

  • There’s no local accountability when algorithms go wrong.
  • There’s no oversight on how your data is collected, used, or sold.
  • And there’s no defense against AI being weaponized in hiring, housing, credit scoring, healthcare, and more.

Innovation doesn’t have to mean recklessness.
And regulation doesn’t have to mean fear.

Here’s What I Believe:

  • You can be obsessed with AI and still demand ethical guardrails.
  • You can teach others how to use it while calling out systems that abuse it.
  • You can embrace the future while protecting human dignity in the process.

This Isn’t a Tech Issue. It’s a Power Issue.

Who’s steering this?
Who benefits?
Who’s protected?

If we don’t ask these questions now, we’ll be asking them too late.

Corso & Canvas exists for the women who get it. The ones who know you can be wildly curious, tech-fluent, and sharp as hell—and still not be naive.
Keep asking better questions. Keep your voice in the loop.

The tools are neutral. The systems aren’t.
